After
Flying Officer Peter Brunton of the Royal New Zealand
Air Force added the shark mouth logo to his P40, it
is reputed that Kiwi Gerry Westernra convinced the
CO of the unit that the rest of the 112 Squadron aircraft
be similarly adorned. It was from this beginning that
the now iconic artwork spread to other units flying
