2019 Copperstate Fly-In |
The 2019 COPPERSTATE Fly-In was held this past weekend at the Buckeye, Arizona, Municipal Airport under chilly but pleasant skies. COPPERSTATE has been at Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona, for the past two years and at the Casa Grande, Arizona, Municipal Airport prior to that. It has traditionally been held the third full weekend in October but was moved to Buckeye to be held in conjunction with the Buckeye Air Fair. New this year for COPPERSTATE was free admission and the addition of an air show with several top aerobatic flyers participating including Jon Melby in his Pitts, Jeff Boerboon in his Yak 110 and Brad Wursten in his MXS-R aerobatic airplane. |

Twin Yak fascinated the crowd with twin radials and a jet engine. |
Although COPPERSTATE has made significant changes to its venue, it has maintained the forums and workshops where you can learn different skills and get information from the FAA that is vital for any pilot. COPPERSTATE was originally designed for the aircraft builder with a focus on aviation education where it has maintained this focus through the years. |

|
Exhibits included forums and many avionic and other aviation suppliers. |
Since its first event in 1973, COPPERSTATE Fly-In has been bringing together aviation enthusiasts in the southwest United States. COPPERSTATE Fly-In, Inc. is a volunteer run, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting recreational and general aviation through events, scholarships, and public education. Proceeds from the COPPERSTATE Fly-In help support scholarship programs for youth seeking careers in the aerospace industry. |

Several Trike Builders and Gyrocopters were represented. |
