1947 Piper PA-11 Cub Special

PA-11 was produced from 1947-1949 and superseded the J-3. Basically the same airframe as J-3 with improvements including cowling.
Other change was a 17 gallon wing tank replacing the 12 gallon front tank, resulting in a bit more leg room in the front seat.
The instrument panel was lowered and engine mounted 1.5 degrees nose down, improving forward visibility.
Streamlined metal fairings replaced the fabric covers on the landing gear bungee shock cords.
Fully enclosed pressure cowling provides easy access to engine and accessories.
